Are you looking for a way to increase your income? One way is by creating a new product for your existing customers. It’s much easier to sell ten products to one customer that you already have than it is to go out and find 10 more customers. In other words, it’s much easier to sell a new product to your current customer base than it is to go out and market to new people.
That’s why one of the quickest and easiest ways to increase and even double your income is to create a new product. Find out what your audience needs. What are they struggling with? What’s the next step they should be taking to reach their goal?
Talk to your customers and do a bit of research in your niche. I’m sure you’ll come up with all sorts of fun and creative product ideas. Pick one and get to work. Figure out your objectives. What do you want the customer to be able to accomplish after they read/consume the product?
The first time you create a product, it might seem overwhelming but you’ll find that the more products you create, the easier it’ll be. You’ll come up with a system that works for you.
Here are two ideas of products you could create:
Ebooks- ebooks can be created using word processing software on your computer and then saving it in a specific format. E-books are a powerful way to distribute information to the thousands of people who are looking for answers to the problems they’re dealing with- from figuring out “How to Visit Another Country” to “Tips to Have a Better Marriage.”
If you’re already selling a product or service, then an ebook can be a way to educate people with information that’s related to your business and show them how your products can help them. An ebook can promote your business, make a connection with potential clients and help establish yourself as an expert.
Ecourses- an e-course is a series of online lessons that are delivered in smaller increments, instead of all at once, like an e-book. There are many ways to deliver an e-course. For example, it can be presented as a live event such as a series of webinars or it may be pre-recorded and presented as a set of videos or audio files. It can also be presented in a written format. One popular way to deliver an e-course is to send each lesson out by e-mail.
Your e-course will be more successful if you have a clear idea who your students will be and what your learning objectives are. If your format allows it, include a variety of elements that offer a more exciting learning experience. For example, you can add quizzes, infographics, animations, images, etc.
You don’t have to stop with one, two, or three products. Instead plan to create a whole series of products that help your customers reach their ultimate end goal. When you start to run out of ideas on what they should be doing next, think about related topics. For example, once you’ve taught your tribe everything you know about list building, branch out into social media or copywriting. If you’re teaching them about container gardening, consider branching out into composting, or food preservation for example.
Finish that product and get it up for sale. Then email your list of existing customers about it. Don’t be surprised if many of them will buy from that one email. That’s right, you may start seeing quite a few sales from that one email. Compare that to all the work, effort, and time it took to find those customers in the first place. Doesn’t that want to make you get to work on the next product?
Of course, the benefits of adding a new product don’t end there. Start promoting the second product the way you did the first. Send an offer for it out to your list of leads. Mention it on social media. Link to it from existing content on your blog. Mention it in guest blog posts and podcast interviews. People who weren’t interested in your first product, end up picking up this new one, resulting in even higher profits. Try it and see what happens.
I’m Lorene Troyer and I help small businesses and organizations create content in order to gain customers and followers. One of the challenges that I faced and that kept me from starting a blog was the need for a lot of content. Then I discovered PLR (Private Label Rights) content, also referred to as editable content. This was a game changer for me. If creating content is a struggle for you, here are two sources of PLR that I personally use and recommend: Piggy Makes Bank, and Done-For-You Personal Development Content For Coaches, Speakers, Publishers And More.
